Prior to the PDM, we will have dozens of books available for the taking. We ask that you limit it to two pre-meeting and unlimited after the meeting. This way, everyone has the opportunity to get at least two.  We ask that these be used for personal use and not for sale.
These are references and classics by famous authors (Peter Drucker, W.Edwards Deming, Peter Senge, Michael Hammer, Joel Barker, David  Turbide  (many folks will recognize Turbide from his current articles in the APICS magazine), Stephen Covey, Richard Schonberger, Tom Peters, Eli Goldratt, Oliver Wight, Rich DeVos...). Also general Operations Management, Purchasing Mgt., Process Innovation, Marketing Mgt., Lean, JIT, etc.
A nice corollary to this initial give-away would be a book look-n-take each meeting.  Please drop off a book (or several) you've read and no longer need, to share them forward. So all these initial books could potentially be recirculated later.

Do you feel guilty when you have fun at work? Why are we conditioned to think that work must be — well, work? Humor and laughter belong in every corner of your life, personal and professional. Laughter has been proven to enhance creativity, promote connectivity, and increase longevity, and being a scientist, Gene has the facts and figures to prove it. Warning: At the conclusion of the program you may experience some very healthy side pain.

Gene Anderson earned his PhD in inorganic chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin, and he did post-doctoral research in electron diffraction at the University of Oslo, Norway. In his 32-year career at the Dow Chemical Company he had eighteen different jobs, seventeen of which didn’t exist when he took them, including one as a global R&D director. Gene is also a professional magician with performances in twenty-one countries on six continents.
